21 days of prayer

Day 10

January 14th

“The Power of Hope “ – Megan Wilson, Children’s Pastor

“Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”
Romans‬ 4:18-21‬ NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

God is hope! It seemed as though Abraham had no hope, yet he still believed God would do what He said he would do (FAITH). God promised Abraham great things, and even though it didn’t happen in his own timing, it happened in God’s. When he was old and Sarah still didn’t have a baby they BELIEVED. His faith brought glory to God. He stood firm, proclaiming God would do what he said he would.

There is ALWAYS hope in God. Trust and believe that he knows what is best, when is best, and how is best. It’s not our way, it’s His. Pray, seek, and wait. Like Abraham, be “fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.” (Verse 21) Don’t waiver or go back and forth pondering the promises of God over your life. He’s the God of the universe, and also our father... if He said he’ll do it, he will.

What is it that you are believing for during this 21 days of prayer and fasting? What promise has God spoken over your life that you are still waiting to see happen? Be encouraged and have faith that if he said it will come to pass, it will. Trust His timing and continue in the hope that only can come from Him.

Father, thank you for incredible hope! Thank you for promises that can only come from you. Forgive me of the times when my faith has wavered, when I didn’t believe, or questioned your ability. There is always hope in you... You never change... if Abraham had hope in you, I can, too! Thank you for loving me so much that you gave me your son to take away my sins so that I can have life to the fullest. Help me build my faith, build my belief, and trust in you. In those wavering moments I pray that the Holy Spirit would convict me quickly, reminding me that your ways are best.
