21 days of prayer
Day 8
January 12th
“Rejoice Always” - Joel Leggett, Associate Pastor of Next Gen
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
“Rejoice always.” Not only rejoicing in happy things but also in difficult things is not always easy. If we’re being honest, it’s really never easy. As Christians, we rejoice always because our joy isn’t based on our circumstances, but in God. I’ve seen my circumstances change, things come and go but God always remains the same. I love what Paul says here: ”In everything give thanks.” We don’t give thanks for everything but in everything. There is something special when our joy and prayers meet together. It always grants us with such a big heart of thanksgiving to God for everything that He has done for us.
God, we thank You for the gift of life and salvation. We ask that, even in the middle of a storm, You show us how to be thankful and to rejoice when difficult things come our way. Today in all things, Lord, please give me the strength to endure the things that I cannot change.
