Day 12
January 16th
“Complete Faith” – Megan Wilson, Children’s Pastor
“A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.”
Mark 1:40-43 NLT
What jumps out to me from this passage are the verbs... He CAME, he KNELT, he BEGGED, and he was HEALED. This man knew Jesus could heal him, but he didn’t just sit around waiting for something to happen. This man came to Jesus with 100% faith. He knew that Jesus could do it, but he also knew that Jesus didn’t have to. He asked if he was WILLING, and because of the leper’s faith, Jesus healed him.
This man had unwavering faith! We must follow this leper’s example and come to the father boldly, with complete faith. We all have sin in our lives and are unclean (like him), but He can make us whole and clean again. Believe it and ask for all things in faith. If he could do it then, he can do it now. God was, is, and always will be!
Father, thank you for this story of a man like all of us…unclean, unwanted, unworthy. It shows that any of us can come to you boldly. Help me to have the faith to come to you with all things, knowing that you can and will do them, according to your will. Thank you for your healing power!
