Holy Week
Oasis Family,

Welcome to Holy Week.

This is more than a tradition on the church calendar. This is the week that changed everything.
From the cheers of Palm Sunday to the silence of Saturday… from the agony of the cross to the victory of the empty tomb — Holy Week reminds us of the depth of God’s love and the power of Jesus’ sacrifice.
We don’t rush through this week. We walk through it.

We reflect.
We realign.
We remember.

Holy Week invites us to slow down long enough to truly see Jesus — not just as Savior, but as King… not just as crucified, but risen… not just as historical, but personal.

My prayer is that as you lean into these daily devotionals, your heart would be softened, your faith strengthened, and your gratitude deepened. Let’s allow God to search us, shape us, and prepare us for Resurrection Sunday.
This week isn’t just about what Jesus did.

It’s about what His finished work means for you.
Let’s walk it together.
Pastor Wesley
DAY
The King Who Redefines Victory
Day 1 - Palm Sunday
Scripture:
Matthew 21:1–11
Zechariah 9:9
Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey — not a war horse. Not surrounded by soldiers. Not demanding power.
This wasn’t accidental. It was prophetic.
“See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey…” (Zechariah 9:9)
The crowd shouted “Hosanna!” which means Save us now. They wanted rescue — but they wanted it their way. They were looking for a political deliverer. Jesus came as a spiritual Savior.
And here’s the tension of Palm Sunday:
They celebrated Him for what they thought He would do, not for who He truly was.
At Oasis, we say yes to the real Jesus — not the version shaped by our expectations. Holy Week begins with a question: Will we surrender to a King who redefines victory?
Victory doesn’t look like domination.
It looks like humility.
It looks like surrender.
It looks like a cross.
Reflection:
Where have I expected Jesus to move in my way instead of trusting His way?
Prayer:
Jesus, You are the true King, even when I don’t fully understand Your methods. Forgive me for the times I have praised You with my lips but resisted You in my heart. Teach me to trust Your leadership, Your timing, and Your definition of victory. I surrender my expectations and receive You as You are — humble, faithful, and worthy of my full obedience.
When Jesus Cleans House
Day 2 - Monday
Scripture:
Mark 11:15–17
Isaiah 56:7
Jesus walks into the temple and begins overturning tables.
The same Savior who rode in gently now confronts boldly. Why? Because worship had been replaced with distraction. Prayer had been replaced with profit.
“My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7)
This wasn’t anger out of control. This was holy passion restoring what mattered most.
Holy Week isn’t just about remembering what happened then. It’s about allowing Jesus to do a cleansing work now.
We are the temple (see 1 Corinthians 6:19).
What tables might He overturn in us?
Sometimes Jesus disrupts what feels normal so He can restore what is sacred.
Reflection:
What has subtly crowded out prayer, purity, or intimacy in my life?
Prayer:
Lord, search my heart with Your loving conviction. If there is anything in me that competes with Your presence, expose it and remove it. Cleanse my motives, reorder my priorities, and make my life a house of prayer. I don’t want comfortable religion — I want real relationship with You.
What Matters Most
Day 3 - Tuesday
Scripture:
Matthew 22:36–40
Deuteronomy 6:5
As tension rises in Jerusalem, religious leaders try to trap Jesus with questions. One asks: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus answers clearly:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.”
“And love your neighbor as yourself.”
In His final week before the cross, Jesus simplifies everything.
Not performance.
Not image.
Not status.
Love.
The cross itself is the greatest display of both commandments fulfilled. Jesus loved the Father fully — even unto death. And He loved us sacrificially — even while we were sinners.
At Oasis, we believe following Jesus transforms how we love. Holy Week calls us to examine our hearts: Is my faith marked by wholehearted love?
Reflection:
Is my love for God visible in the way I treat people?
Prayer:
Father, align my heart with Yours. Teach me to love You with every part of my being — not just in words, but in surrender. Let Your love overflow into my relationships, my conversations, and my reactions. Remove selfishness and replace it with Christlike compassion.
The Subtle Drift
Day 4 - Wednesday
Scripture:
Matthew 26:14–16
Luke 22:3–6
Judas had walked with Jesus. Heard His teaching. Seen the miracles.
Yet somewhere along the way, something shifted.
Scripture tells us he agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. It didn’t happen overnight. It was a slow drift.
Holy Week reminds us: proximity to Jesus is not the same as surrender to Jesus.
We can attend church, sing songs, and still have areas we refuse to release. The drift is subtle — compromise rarely announces itself loudly.
But here’s the good news: where Judas chose betrayal, we can choose repentance.
Today is an invitation to check our alignment.
Reflection:
Is there any compromise, hidden motive, or divided loyalty in my heart?
Prayer:
Lord, guard me from subtle drift. If there is anything in me that is divided, bring it into the light. Strengthen my devotion so that I follow You wholeheartedly and not conditionally. I choose faithfulness over comfort, obedience over convenience, and surrender over control.
The Table and the Towel
Day 5 - Thursday
Scripture:
Luke 22:14–20
John 13:3–5
On the night He was betrayed, Jesus did two unforgettable things:
He broke bread.
And He washed feet.
The King knelt.
He knew Peter would deny Him. He knew Judas would betray Him. He knew the disciples would scatter.
And He served anyway.
“This is my body given for you.”
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood.”
Grace is not reactive. It is proactive. Jesus gave Himself before we fully understood what it meant.
At Oasis, we come to the table remembering that salvation is not earned — it is received.
Reflection:
Am I living from gratitude for grace — or striving to earn what Jesus has already given?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the cross and for the covenant sealed by Your blood. Thank You that You served when You could have demanded service. Shape my heart to reflect Your humility and generosity. Let gratitude define my life and let grace shape how I treat others.
It Is Finished
Day 6 - Good Friday
Scripture:
John 19:28–30
Isaiah 53:4–6
When Jesus cried, “It is finished,” He wasn’t declaring defeat. The word tetelestai means paid in full.
Isaiah 53 tells us He was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.
On the cross, justice and mercy met.
Every sin — paid for.
Every shame — covered.
Every accusation — silenced.
Good Friday is heavy. It should be. But it is also holy. Because what looked like the end was actually the completion of redemption.
There is nothing left for you to earn.
Reflection:
Where am I still trying to carry guilt that Jesus already carried for me?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for bearing what I could not bear. Thank You for paying a debt I could never repay. Help me to fully receive the freedom You purchased for me. Teach me to live not under condemnation, but under the finished work of the cross.
Resurrection Changes Everything
Day 7 - Saturday
Scripture:
Matthew 28:1–10
Romans 6:4
The stone was rolled away.
Not to let Jesus out — but to show us He was no longer there.
Death could not hold Him. The grave could not contain Him. The enemy could not silence Him.
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.”
The resurrection is not just an event we celebrate. It is power we live in.
Because He lives:
We walk in newness of life.
We are no longer defined by our past.
We have hope that cannot be buried.
At Oasis, we believe resurrection is not symbolic — it is transformational.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in us (Romans 8:11).
Reflection:
What area of my life needs resurrection power today?
Prayer:
Lord, awaken hope in every place that feels lifeless. Breathe fresh faith into areas where discouragement has settled. Remind me that because You live, I have victory, purpose, and eternal security. Let me walk boldly in resurrection power today and every day.
