Check-In
Check-In Process at OC Kids
When you arrive with your child, a member of our OC Kids Check-In Team will greet you. At our computerized check-in station, you will receive a name tag for your child and a matching security tag for yourself. This system helps ensure your child’s safety and makes pickup secure.

If your child has any special needs or allergies, please inform the check-in team so we can provide the best care possible. We want to ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable experience with us!

Nursery Class at OC Kids
In our nursery, our goal is to create a peaceful and loving environment where your child’s physical needs are met while helping them experience their first positive impression of their Heavenly Father. We also aim to help your child transition smoothly into their preschool years.

Check-In Process
As you walk your child to their classroom, a nursery volunteer will meet you at the door to welcome your child and receive their diaper bag. Please let the nursery volunteers know of any specific needs or instructions you may have for your child.

Once you’ve completed the check-in process and taken your child to their room, feel free to wave a quick goodbye and head to the worship service. It’s common for little ones to cry when a parent leaves, but this usually passes quickly. Our nursery leaders will immediately engage your child with toys or activities to help comfort them and reassure them that you’ll return soon. If your child continues to cry for an extended period, we will page you using the number on your security tag, which will be displayed at the bottom of the center screen in the main auditorium.
Packing Your Child’s Diaper Bag
When packing your child’s diaper bag, please include the following:
-
Two or three disposable diapers
-
An extra change of clothes
-
A bottle or cup of milk, formula, or water

Please label all personal items (including pacifiers, bottles, and sippy cups) with your child’s first and last name to ensure we can identify them.

Snacks
We provide snacks for our crawlers and walkers, such as Gerber Graduate Puffs and animal crackers. If your child has any allergies, please inform the check-in team so we can enter this information into our system, and it will be displayed on your child’s name tag.

Pick-Up Process
When it’s time to pick up your child, please return to the appropriate room and present your security tag to the nursery volunteer at the door. Your child will only be released to you when the security tag matches the one on your child’s name tag. If you lose your security tag, you will be asked to provide proper identification before your child is released. Be sure to gather all of your child’s belongings before you leave.

Mother’s Lounge
For your convenience, we have a Mother's Lounge located next to the ladies’ restroom in the main sanctuary building. It’s equipped with gliders and changing stations, so mothers can comfortably care for their infants while viewing the service on a TV monitor. Please note that this room is for women only to respect everyone’s privacy.

3 - 5 years old
In our preschool class, we guide your child’s curiosity through Bible-based, interactive activities that help them discover who Jesus is. One of our key goals is to make their transition into elementary school easier by providing a strong spiritual foundation.
A Typical Service Includes:
-
Opening Activities: Preschoolers are invited to engage in activities like puzzles, games, or coloring. During this time, our volunteers interact with the children to build relationships and create a welcoming environment.
-
Gathering for Group Time: Children come together for fun songs and games that prepare them for story time. Prayer is always part of our group time, teaching kids the importance of talking to God.
-
Bible Story Time: Preschoolers will hear simple Bible stories that teach them basic truths about God. Bible verses, songs, and games are used to emphasize the lesson's theme, making learning fun and memorable.
-
Small Group Time: Children are grouped by age to reinforce the lesson through a craft or activity. This is also the time when your child will enjoy a snack.
-
Snack Time: A snack will be provided, such as Ritz crackers, Goldfish, or Welch's fruit snacks, along with water. If your child has allergies, please inform the check-in team so we can enter allergy alerts into our system and display them on your child’s name tag.
-
Heading Home: When it’s time to pick up your child, you’ll check them out from their small group room. Be sure to collect your child’s craft, which will be available in the room. The teacher will verify your security tag against your child’s name tag before releasing your child to you. A child will only be released when the security tag is presented. If you lose your security tag, you’ll be asked to provide proper identification before your child can be released.

Please Note: Your child must be fully potty-trained to move up to the preschool room.
What to expect in OC BIGkids...
BIGkids
6 years old - 5th grade
In the elementary class, we engage your child’s interest through high-energy services and small group interactions to foster a personal relationship with God. One of our goals is to help your child transition smoothly into their junior-high years.

A Typical Service Includes:
-
Game Stations & Group Game: Upon entering, your child will notice several game stations throughout the room. While they enjoy these activities, a leader will connect with them, ensuring they feel welcomed, engaged, and building relationships with others.
-
Core Values: Every Sunday, we emphasize four core values that shape our OC Kids program:
-
Love God – We love God because He first loved us. (Luke 10:27, John 3:16)
-
Love People – We love all people because God loves everyone! (Luke 10:27, John 13:34)
-
Do Your Best – Do your best, and God will do the rest. (Philippians 4:13, 1 Corinthians 10:31)
-
Have Fun! – We have fun because God gives us joy. (Acts 13:52, Romans 14:17)
-
-
Worship Experience: Every service begins with a three-song worship set, including two upbeat praise songs with motions and one worship song. After the third song, the worship leader or service leader will open in prayer and lead the children through offering time.
-
Bible Story & Salvation Prayer: The main teacher will use a variety of engaging methods such as object lessons, videos, and activities to teach the Bible story. A concrete visual is used to help the children grasp and remember the key lesson of the day. After the story, we’ll ask the children if they’d like to accept God’s gift of salvation.
-
Small Groups: Children are divided into small groups, led by an OC Kids leader, where they can share prayer requests, discuss the lesson, and participate in a small activity. These groups offer a chance for children to open up, ask questions, and grow in their faith together.

Heading Home: When you pick up your child, please ensure your security tag is visible. For your child's safety, you will not be allowed inside the room without it. The teacher will match your security tag with your child’s name tag before releasing them into your care. A child will only be released when the security tag is presented. If you lose your security tag, you’ll need to provide proper identification before your child can be released to you.
