As you and your child approach our check-in desk, you will be greeted by a member of our OC Kids Check-In Team. You will receive a name tag for your child and a corresponding security tag for yourself at our computerized check-in location. Please alert check-in personnel of any information that will help in caring for your child, such as allergies and special needs.

At check-in, please fill out the special needs portion of the new family form. An unlimited team member will come to greet you and your child to give you the best possible care.

We believe that God uniquely and divinely creates children with a purpose, and that there are no limitations that would hinder them in fulfilling it. Our team is trained to accommodate children with special needs by offering to be a buddy during services. Our goal is to help your child become acclimated to each environment and meet Jesus in their own way.

What to expect in Elementary...

oc kids
6 years old - 5th grade

In the elementary class, we seek to engage your child’s interest through high- energy services and small group interactions to promote a personal relationship with God! One of our goals is to help your child transition more easily into their junior-high years.

A typical service includes…

Game Stations & Group Game: Upon entering the doors, your child will notice
several game stations throughout the room. While your child is enjoying the game stations, a leader will be sure to connect with them to make sure they feel
welcome, are engaged in the game, playing with the other children, and building relationships.

Core Values: In OC Kids, we have four core values. Below are the values we
communicate to the children every Sunday:

1. Love God. We love God because God is love and He first loved us. Luke 10:27, John3:16

2. Love People. We love people because God loves ALL people! Luke 10:27, John13:34

3. Do Your Best. Do your best and God does the rest! Philippians 4:13, 1 Corinthians10:31

4. Have Fun! Have fun because God gives you joy! Acts 13:52, Romans 14:17

Worship Experience: OC Kids begins every service with a three-song worship set. This set includes two upbeat praise songs with choreographed motions and one worship song. After the third song, the worship leader or service leader will open in prayer and lead the children through offering time.

Bible Story & Salvation Prayer: The main teacher will use a variety of interesting ways to deliver the Bible story to your child. These ways include the use of object lessons, videos, and activities. They will introduce the main point to your child by using a concrete visual that allows them to grasp and remember the lesson for the day. Each OC Kids curriculum consists of a Biblical story and a themed lesson. If videos are used, the teacher will recap the video lesson. Reiterating the lesson reminds the kids how important it is to use what they’ve learned in their own lives. Once the main point has been summed up, we will ask the kids if they want to receive the gift that God has for them… salvation.

Small Groups: Children will be divided into groups led by an OC Kids leader for small group time. This time allows for prayer requests, reiterating the lesson, or a small activity. We believe that these groups allow for children to open up, ask questions, and grow in their faith together.

Heading Home: When you come to pick up your child, please have your security tag visible. For the protection of your child, you will not be allowed inside the room without it. The teacher will check your security tag and your child's name tag for a match before allowing you to leave with your child. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.

In the preschool class, we guide your child's curiosity through Bible-based, interactive activities to help them discover who Jesus is. One of our goals is to help your child transition more easily to their elementary years.

A typical service includes...

Opening Activities: Preschoolers are encouraged to participate in opening activities such as working on a puzzle, playing a game, or coloring. Volunteers will use this time to play and talk with your children in order to build relationships.

Gathering for Group Time: Each classroom will have fun with songs and games to help the preschoolers prepare for story time. Prayer is always a part of our group time.

Bible Story Time: They will learn basic Biblical truths that can be applied in their preschool realm, all while having fun! Bible verses, songs, and games are also used to emphasized the theme and focus of the lesson.

Small Group Time: Your child will be grouped based on their age for small group time. This time will reinforce the lesson through a craft or activity. Your child will also be given a snack during this time.

Snack: A snack will be provided for your preschooler. The snacks consist of Ritz crackers, Goldfish or Welch's fruit snacks and water. Please inform check-in personnel of any allergies during the check-in process. Allergy alerts will be entered into the check-in system and displayed on your child's name tag.

Heading Home: When you pick up your child from class, you will check them out of their designated small group room. Please be sure to take your child's craft that will be located inside of their room. The teacher will check your security tag and your child's name tag for a match before placing the preschooler into your care. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.

*Please note your child must be fully potty-trained in order to move up to the preschool room.

What to expect in Preschool...

In the nursery class, our goal is to create a peaceful atmosphere and care for your child's physical needs to give them a great first impression of their Heavenly Father. We also strive to help your child transition more easily into their preschool years.

As you walk your child to their classroom, a nursery volunteer will meet you at the door to welcome your child and receive your child's diaper bag. Please inform nursery volunteers of any specific instructions you may have for your child.

After you have completed the check-in process and have taken your child to his or her room, wave a quick good-bye and head into the worship service. As you know, it is common for little ones to cry when a parent leaves. This, typically, does not last long. Separation will become easier over time. Our leaders will immediately engage your child in a toy or activity and ensure your child that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will page you using the number that corresponds to the one on your security tag. This number will be displayed in the bottom of the center screen inside the main auditorium.

When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items: two or three disposable diapers, an extra change of clothes, and a bottle/cup of milk/formula or water. Please label all personal items (including pacifiers and bottles/sippy cups) with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This helps us know which items belong to your child.

Snacks are provided for our crawlers and walkers. The food items consist of Gerber Graduate Puffs and animal crackers. Again, please inform the check-in team of any allergies during the check-in process. Allergy alerts will be entered into our check-in system and displayed on your child's name tag.

When the time comes to pick up your child, please return to the appropriate room and present your security tag to the nursery volunteer at the door. The tag will be matched to your child's name tag before he/she will be released into your care. A child will not be able to leave the room with a parent, without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child is returned to you. Please make sure that you have all of your child's belongings with you before you leave.

For your convenience, in addition to our nursery, there is a Mother's Lounge located in the main sanctuary building next to the ladies restroom. It is equipped with gliders and changing stations. Mothers may comfortably view the service on a television monitor while they tend to their infants. To respect everyone's privacy, these rooms are for women only.
